Overview

Palimpsest: Where Magic Remembers is a single-player, third-person action-adventure developed and published by SmallIndieDev. Aren awakens without memories in Ysmere, a world of floating islands above a sea of clouds. By entering magical traces called Imprints, players relive events in old places and learn their spells rather than earning experience points. Exploration and combat take place across islands, ruins and the open sky. Beast companions called Kin provide ways to ride, climb, swim and fly through the world. The game is in development; its announcement teaser and store screenshots show pre-alpha footage. Steam lists a planned Q1 2027 release for Windows and Linux. Its interface and subtitles are listed in English, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian; no full-audio languages are listed. No Mac or console release is currently confirmed by the Steam platform data. Official press kit: https://impress.games/press-kit/smallindiedev/palimpsest-where-magic-remembers
