Fire Emblem Shadows has added the opening two chapters of Book IV, An Island Apart, in a free update announced by Nintendo on October 9. The new chapters continue Kurt's story and are available for both light and shadow.
Kurt and his companions flee to Rose's homeland of Holtz, where they take refuge among its islands while the empire pursues them. Chapters unlock with Story Fragments earned from battles. To switch Books through the home screen's Change Stories option, players first need to collect all of Book I's story rewards.
The update also celebrates Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Logging in on three separate days grants 12 Souls to recruit Leda: String Siren. Dietrich is available through the paid Premium Pass until October 27 at 10:59pm Pacific time, which is October 28 at 5:59am in London.
Nintendo's announcement includes a trailer. Fire Emblem Shadows combines real-time strategy with social deduction on smart devices. It is free to start, with optional purchases, and requires a persistent internet connection.
