Expendabots has a free demo on Steam for Windows and Mac, giving up to four players a chance to try Collision Games' robot horror extraction game. The demo's Steam page lists its release as 9 October 2026, and it is available to download now.

You play expendable robots sent into dangerous islands and abandoned dungeons to recover valuable technology. The aim is to get your loot and your squad back out, with changing layouts and threats complicating each mission.

Talking to your teammates can make that harder. The official game website explains that enemies can hear proximity voice chat, so calling out what you've found can also reveal where you are. Staying quiet and switching off your lights are part of avoiding trouble.

Each robot carries a portable 3D printer. You can turn scavenged material into equipment or distractions during a mission, rather than relying entirely on what you brought in. If a teammate falls, the others can recover its mechanical heart and return it to a freshly printed body.

The demo supports solo play as well as online co-op. This is a playable preview rather than the full game's launch; the main Steam listing still gives the full release window as 2026.
